Virga is a bi-annual publication. We publish two issues yearly, in spring and fall. The deadline for spring's issue is March 31 and the deadline for fall is September 30th.

Please send us up to five poems of any length (.doc,.docx, or .pdf) via our Submittable portal. Virga only accepts previously unpublished work (this includes work that has appeared on a personal blog or a social media account).

Virga does not accept works of fiction or non-fiction, however we will consider prose and narrative style poems and, on occasion, the "uncategorized" or "hybrid" piece.

To offset the costs of running and maintaing this publication, we do require a small submission fee ($2) via Submittable.

Please include a brief author bio with your submission

Simultaneous submissions are acceptable, but please let us know as soon as possible if your work has found a home elsewhere. You can do this by making a note in submittable.

Response times will vary. If you have not recieved a response after 4 months, feel free to send a query to editor@virgamagazine.com.

It's hard to wait! We understand. For $5 we'll put your submission on top of the pile and get back to you within three days. This contribution, like the regular submission fee, goes entirely toward operation costs for the magazine and it's projects. Thank you for supporting us!
